Whirlwind

The past couple months have brought so much fun, craziness and happiness to our family.

The twins love bath time!
After spending 9 months together in a crowded space, Cameron looks like he'd love if Kennedy would move over just a smidge.
 Real life doll.
Cameron is either throwing gang signs or showing us that he is two weeks old.
Even while chilling at home, Kennedy always insists on wearing a head band.
 Ms. Independent...
Busting a move on the couch.
 It's a bird...
 It's a plane...
Oh my, it is just the ceiling.  What a relief!
We encouraged Kennedy to take a pacifier, but this ridiculous green one is the only one she likes.
Rough day Cam?  Feel free to kick up your feet and relax!
Kennedy has been cracking up a lot lately.  It isn't too cute at 5:00am though.
Cameron is so smiley and sweet.
Kennedy thinks tummy time is boring, so she is just relaxing instead.
Twins are expensive, so we are sending Cameron to work.
Cameron cracks us up with his cackle laugh.  Such a happy boy!
He's been accused of being a flirt by many women he encounters while we are out.
 Future heart breaker.
Being so cute is really exhausting.
Cameron laughs at everything.  Kennedy reserves her laughter for appropriate occasions.  Such a little lady.
 Tickle time!
In case Mickey Mouse Clubhouse gets scary, Kennedy is gripping Cam's arm.
 Her sleeping pose seems planned.
Can't decide if he looks claustrophobic or just super comfy.
Another 5:00am smile, which turned into laughing, which woke up Cam.  Hard to be upset with them when they are so happy!
 GQ model?
 Cameron is so lovable.
Double trouble
Daddy and Kennedy adore each other.
Wonder what she is dreaming about?!  This is her first nap in her crib.
Their first trip in the jogger stroller was before they were even 2 weeks old.  They love all the attention they receive while we are out getting me back in shape.
 Apparently, I'm hilarious...
 Even Kennedy couldn't stop laughing!
She is a total daddy's girl.  Her face lights up every time Matt is around.
These first few weeks have been an adventure...

Fifty Five Degrees

Braden leapt onto a boogie board in the pool and knocked his tooth out...Of course it sunk to the bottom of the pool.

I assured Braden the tooth fairy would leave him something if he just put a note under his pillow.
Matt disagreed with my philosophy about the tooth fairy so he dove into the 55 degree water and searched until he found the tooth.  Did I mention it is March and the water is freezing?!  Maybe he is the nicer parent.  Maybe I'm the smarter one.

Headed South

Sydney and Kendall were upset they missed the delivery of the twins, so they came to visit when the babies were a month old.  They live in northern California, but we are hoping they will be moving to southern California very soon.  They made the very long trek down and we were excited to spend time with them.
Kennedy and Cameron are so cute in person, but they seem to show off some interesting expressions in photos!

Cameron got all dressed up for his visit from the other Johnsons.
For being such a sweet baby, Cameron can sure deliver a mean stink eye to Sydney!
Kendall announced she wanted to change Cameron's next poopy diaper.  He seems appalled!
Sydney said she wants to spend next summer with us and will babysit for free everyday.  Yes, please and thank you!
Little CJ was getting a little advice from Uncle CJ.
Kendall and Sydney just couldn't get enough of their new cousins!
She passed her babysitting interview with flying colors.
Braden immediately sprung into action when I told him it is good to read to babies. He is such a sweet big brother!
A beautiful March day called for time in the pool!  We can't afford to heat it now that we have twins!

The Aftermath

The twins were well taken care of long before they were born.  I got great prenatal care from Melinda, Charlotte and Dr. Melissa Bush.

These ladies were so excited I brought the babies with me to my 4 week follow-up visit.  They wanted to feed and change them.  Kennedy and Cameron do look pretty cozy!  They rarely get to meet the babies that they care for while in utero, so they were quite pleased to meet the final products.

Midnight Snack

These babies seem to eat constantly.  Every 2 hours seems like every 2 minutes.  The late night feeding is a family affair.

Bentley is so good with the babies.  She loves that they don't protest when she licks them.

Sleeping Beauties

Several sleepless nights and a couple hundred diapers later....and it has only been 2 weeks!

This girl is proving to be a bit of a princess already, but she sure is sweet when she's sleeping!
Best  friends already...
Kennedy looks large and in charge.  Cameron already knows he will take a backseat to his overpowering sis.
Sweet dreamer...
Just chillaxing while soaking up some rays.

14 Days

The twins are two weeks old and their first pediatrician visit went smoothly.  Babies are healthy and happy!  We are truly blessed.

Cameron is perfect in every way.
Everything checked out well.  He is 20" long (50th percentile) and 6lbs 4oz (10th percentile). I think he will be beefing up soon so he can outweigh his big sis!
Kennedy is wondering why she has to lay there naked while Cameron is cozy and clothed.
Turns out Kennedy is perfect too! This bundle of sweetness is 19 1/4" long (40th percentile) and 6lbs 13oz (20th percentile)
We have survived the first two weeks.  We can handle anything now!

Home Sweet Home

After our 5-day stint at Saddleback, we were finally set free into the real world.  We knew that settling in at home would take a bit of adjusting.  We have made it one day so far. Gramma and Papa were still visiting when Grandma Judy, Aunt Maria and Journee came for a visit.

These new additions seemed bored with the company.  No offense Aunt Maria and Grandma!
Just what Journee wanted...another boy cousin to roughhouse with!
Papa certainly has experience joking around with his granddaughters. He tried Journee's sparkly shoes on for size.
Being at home sure made Kennedy sleepy. Wonder if she will party all night?!
There is an abundance of granddaughters in the Johnson family for Papa to love.
Aunt Maria loved holding Journee's future BFF.
 How cozy does Cam look?!
Gramma makes sure to spread the love to all her grandkids.  She worked on a project with Braden in between helping with diapers and feedings.
