Farm Life

Uncle Billy, Aunt Maria and Journee met us at Tanaka Farms in Irvine to celebrate fall.  Well, it didn't exactly feel like fall with the 83 degree temps, but we pretended.

Kennedy explained to Uncle Billy that it is just a hair bow.  No big deal.
One girls isn't enough of a handful, so Aunt Maria scooped Kennedy up too.

These cousins love each other!

Braden was a great older cousin even before he became an awesome big brother.  Headed off into the corn maze...
Donning a skull and crossbones sweatshirt and tutu, Kennedy was ready for the corn maze.  Ok, maybe the bow was a bit overboard?

This kid is sprouting like a weed, or ahem, a corn stalk.
So glad Kennedy gets Journee's hand-me-downs.  I mean, those boots are just too much!!
She sure looks like she's had lots of practice posing for pictures.  Adorable in every photo!
Sitting on a hay stack with old tractors was fun, but Braden was eager to get to the petting zoo.  Aunt Maria cringed at the thought of all the dirt, poop and germs.
Only $7.75 for this pumpkin? Seems like quite a bargain.  Surely we'd stumble upon one three times the price to take home.
Braden loves animals.  He would've spent hours in the petting zoo.
Meanwhile, Cam did what he does best....looked adorable.
Sometimes great ideas don't seem so great once a photo is viewed after the fact.  The hair bow was the great idea.
Turns out pickings are a bit slim at a pumpkin farm on October 27.  Braden still managed to stake his claim on a good one though.
The pumpkin was so big, it made a good seat for both of these cuties.
Kennedy will be tearing it up at the farm next year with Journee.
There's just something about Uncle Billy that cracks the Johnson kids up!
Of course Aunt Maria wanted a picture with this beautiful pumpkin.
What does a beaut like that cost?  $23...

Seeing Orange

Fall is here so it seemed appropriate to visit a pumpkin farm. Irvine Park offered a nice array of pumpkins to enjoy.

Cameron seemed to enjoy these big, orange balls.
Kennedy's flower was as big as a pumpkin!
Turns out, pumpkins serve as a great drum set.
Apparently, Cameron saw a ghost. Kennedy must have thought the ghost was friendly.
Of course Kennedy tried to eat the pumpkin...I warned her it wouldn't taste like pie.

The Kickoff

It's fall and the Johnson kids are ready for football season!

All decked out in Chargers gear, we enjoyed a nice sunny day in the backyard. Kennedy likes her cheerleading uniform, but isn't sure if she is excited about the sport.
Bentley is excited to plop on someone's lap during the game.
Throwing the football was a little challenging for this sweet girl, so chewing on it seemed like a good alternative.
Oh wait, Mickey Mouse isn't on the Chargers? Forget sitting down and watching the game then. There is lots of climbing to be done around the house.
Cam Johnson sounds like the name of a future quarterback. Guess he needs to bulk up on more than pureed carrots and peas.

Feeling Like Fall

An impromptu photo session seemed like a great idea on this beautiful fall day.  Conveniently, we have gorgeous surroundings, so we didn't have to go far for a nice backdrop.  Cute kids help too!

Apparently Braden didn't like the idea of a photo sesh.
With a face this handsome, he had no choice.
Obviously he would get dirty before we even started taking pictures.
Kelsey had to give Kennedy a quick pep talk.  Wonder if it worked?!
Half the group looked great and the other half was eating leaves.  Not bad!
We got smart and decided to do separate shots.  Sporting a mohawk, Cam looked adorable.
One of the perks of the job is getting a full workout everyday with these babies!
Apparently Kennedy wanted to copy Kelsey's outfit.
Kennedy's sweet face is impossible not to love.
Fascinated by the leaves, Kennedy was trying to quickly take a bite.
Braden absolutely adores her.  The feelings are mutual.
Cameron just wanted to crawl around in the crunchy leaves.  The whole sitting still for a photo idea cramped his style.
Braden's patience will come in handy for many years to come.
Can't be surrounded by millions of leaves without throwing them up in the air.
Braden looks like such a big shot.  He loves hanging out with Kelsey!
There are so many great trees to climb.  Nothing like doing so in nice jeans and a collared shirt!
Not sure who won the wrestling match...
